This is a story of honesty, trust and respect.

Two mates growing up in tropical North Queensland.

Pushing, pulling, exploring, fighting, laughing, crying, winning and losing.

All the while forging a relationship which has now entered its fourth decade.

It’s always about being there for each other, a cycle of highs and lows, the mundane and the challenges:

• Competing for that girl’s attention in the school yard

• Slogging it out for the local rugby team

• Sleepovers, school camps, footy trips, debutant balls and graduations

• Hitting the clubs in search of the perfect ale and the perfect female

• Meeting the girl who would become the bride

• Nervously delivering the best man’s speech

• Fishing for barramundi

• Holding the newborn son while mum takes a break

• Cold beers, burnt BBQs and chewing the fat until the early hours

• Being told that the latest girlfriend isn’t the right one

• Supporting a mate’s new business

• Driving the kids to school

• Being there when dad took his last breath

• Comforting mum

• Watching baby boy walk

• Coming together with a new business venture
